Christmas Gifts Galore, Part 4 {Keeping Warm}

I got some very warm and cuddly things for Xmas, that is certainly coming in hand now that we have SEVEN inches of snow on the ground...and they are so cute, I have to share!!!

Hiding From Winter {in my new winter coat}

We got our first snow of the season this past weekend, not a lot, but the cold weather and icy wind accompanied it.  So, brrrrrr, is all I have to say!  Thankfully, I had received my new super duper warm coat last week and am all cuddled up.

My North Face down coat is great, but hits just below the hip and my bum gets cold!  So I was on the look for one that went to my knees.  At first I was looking at North Face, but then I found this one and boy is it warm and cute!  Love the faux-fur hood, and the hood is removable.  It's Calvin Klein, and I got it at Macy's with an extra coupon for having a credit card there.  So not a bad deal for a warm, long coat!

Don't I look warm!?!  It is. 

Orange you glad to see my outfit?

haha, omg, lame.  Sorry, late night sleeping in the living room (whilst home remodeling ensues in the entire upstairs...more on that to come).  Anyways - I haven't worn this orange crinkle silk skirt from J.Crew too much, and it was staring at me in my closet begging to be worn!  So I added some colors from the purple family to it to make this very Fall looking outfit:

Even wore my fuchsia jacket and light lavender scarf to keep the colors all purpley - sick of purple tones yet?

 I sprayed practically a whole bottle of static guard on my bum and tights before leaving to keep this silky skirt from clinging to my tights in this cold weather.  Did the trick, but now I need more Static Guard.

I really liked this outfit. Felt pretty bold with all the colors, but not too bright or crazy.

Outfit of the Day: Layering Up with Target

Lately I've been limiting my layering to just two.  That's not too hard, so I thought I'd aim for a third and then some...and all with Target, of course.  Here is my outfit, layer by layer:

Jacket (similar), hoodie, silky tank (different color), scarf and flats (similar) from Target;  

Jeans from Gap, hat from H&M

True story on the jacket - I found it on the sale rack and got an additional 20% off, so it was super cheap.  Obviously being from Target and less than $20, it's purely pleather.  Who doesn't love some pleather?  You don't have to worry about rain or snow ruining it, getting it scratched up, etc...  

Well, the hubs wasn't amused by my new jacket and score of a deal.  Possibly because the last thing I need is a new jacket?  Or in his words, "how much plastic ware do you need?" Ahhh, well I don't know that answer to that, yet. :)

I actually wore a jacket this past weekend when the temps dropped into the 60s and was rainy!  It is now back up to high 80s, but the Fall weather is right around the corner - I can feel it!

My favorite part about the weather cooling off is layers!  I love being able to through on a jacket for my summer clothes to extend their life longer, or new fall clothes for something new.  Already, I've seen tons are great jackets styles and options, trend by trend I'm going to share options with different price points.

More Blazer Lovin'

After the search for some blazers, I found 2 from J.Crew (go figure) and love them both! My green velvet one is fun and can add a pop of color, but I also got a navy pinstriped one. Sounds boring, but it's classic, the fit is perfect and can be dressed up or down. I wore it and I loved it:


I loved the look and feel of this outfit. I wore my new J.Crew blazer (sold out now, similar one here and here) over my chiffon tiered Forever 21 T shirt (similar here and here) with jeans and Forever 21 chain necklace (similar here).
