Shoes of the Day: Prepping for the Cold

I've already got my indoor/casual wear comfy & warm boots, but not I need some serious weather boots.  Last year was crazy snowy and cold, and I didn't have proper footwear.

So this year, if I plan accordingly, it'll probably be a super warm winter and I won't even need these boots...  But I'd rather be safe than sorry, and these options are both warm and cute:

It must be spring cause everywhere I go there's fucking HUGE pink and white flower growing on almost any and everything! So you know what comes with flowers! FUCKING BEES! Like huge bumblebees! The last shot is me running from the bastards! I wasn't shooting for Alice in Wonderland but these kinda turn out GRUNGE WONDERLANDSQUE! The dress and purse both were gifts. One thing I love more than vintage discounted clothes is GIFTS! I didn't suffer any bug bites or stings, thank satan! As Samuel Jackson would say, "IT'S SPRING MUTHAFUCKAS!" Grab the bug spray!

My Snowy Christmas

Snowed in on Christmas due to massive amounts of snow!!! Chuckie-Bear loved it though, and boy is he cute covered in snow!

Hope you all stayed warm and toasty on Christmas!! We are so lucky to have had and continue to have a warm roof over our heads and plenty of good food and drink.

My Weekend of House Duties

This weekend was spent doing lots of household chores. But in a good way, if there is such. We have a lot to do...so getting things done IS good.

Dining Room Wallpaper...

The culprit.

After pulling the wall paper down...left with lots of glue and wallpaper backing = the hard stuff!

Hub's parents came down for a visit this weekend and showed us how to efficiently get down that "hard stuff". We finished the Dining Room. The final product...well, until paint!

Tending to the yard...

One {small} portion or our yard, like 1/5 of our front yard...

We are lucky for one thing. We live in a city that allows us to shove our millions upon millions of leaves into the street - then 3 different times in November, the street sweepers come and collect it all - turning it into mulch! I think we might have had the most leaves on the block...

Post 3.5 hours of raking and leaf blowing... yes, there are still remnant leaves left in the yard - but that beats the 6 feet of leaves throughout our 3 front yards and 1 backyard.

Well...unfortunately, there are a lot of leaves left on this big beautiful tree...
But hey - that's what home-ownership gets ya, and I'm happy to do the work! Just can't wait to get the house to our taste and make it OUR home...but patience... patience...these things take time! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

Happy Fall!

Fall has definately arrived in the Midwest, and while I'm not a huge fan of what that means (Winter around the corner, with all-too early spurts of it now), I do love the beautiful leaves and bright colors of the trees. I love layers of clothes and walks without spilling sweat. I love cuddling up in bed under tons of covers. I love spending time with my Charlie-Boy outside.

So, for now, I just have to enjoy Fall as it is now, because who knows when winter will pop it's ugly head into the sky and chill us to the bone with it's frigid demeanor!

Outside Living

I want this so bad that I almost fainted. Then almost fainted again when I saw the prices... This is the perfect looking outdoor set. I feel like I could spend hours outside in these comfy and roomy looking seats. But at $899 a chair and $599 for the ottoman - oh, and the fact that we haven't found a house yet - I don't think it's happening...

So, looking at some less expensive options (for someday when I find a house)... I think this Davinci 4-Piece Chat Set looks cute and could be spiced up with some colored pillows or even by recovering the cushions. This entire set is less than one of the above chairs ($698)!

An even cheaper set, this Delahey 4-Piece Conversation Set is only $499. With this price, you'd have extra money to get some pillows and even recover the cushions to match your style and brighten the set up a bit, if you so desired.

While I am not super pumped about the color - this could still be brighted up a bit with accent pillows. This Summer Winds Conversation Patio Set comes with a lot for the money - $799 on sale!

A Day in the Park

....Or anywhere outside with this awesome portable table! I want to get this and just have a picnic in my backyard, or it'd be perfect for a concert in the park, or watching fireworks on the 4th of July...anything. Makes eating and setting up the eats and drinks so much easier and fun.
