My Best Friend's Uhmm..Engagement.

After a night of utter craziness and nostalgia, I'm blogging at 5 in the morning only to share with you what a wonderful affair my friend's engagement was. I had a wonderful time meeting all family friends and acquaintances and of course meeting my friend's fiance. Its still hard for me to digest that the girl I grew up with, braided hair with, built sand castles with (literally!) was on that classic Indian ornate stage, exchanging wedding bands with a man she was going to be with for the rest of her life. Its beautiful, it really is to look at the family of the little girl up there, all excited and anxious at the same time, simply because everything has to be PERFECT :) I remember the last text I got from her was in the evening when I was at the salon getting my hair done saying that she was nervous. I told her that it'll be perfect and she would be her gorgeous self. It.all.fell.in.place. She was gorgeous and it was perfect :)
I'm sorry I was too emotional to click too many pictures but here is a picture of her with the would-be groom and a friend of theirs. Take a look :)
Perfectly color co-ordinated in pink with her diamonds to match :)

My mother was my official photographer for the next picture so all credits to her incredible patience with me in getting the 'right' picture. Take a look :)
Diamond accessories, bracelet(gifted) and a watch by DKNY.

It was a glitzy night, sure but it made me realise how we all grow up. How relationships are ever-dynamic. How emotional an affair weddings are-especially for little girls who grow up :)
How Indian engagements and weddings are so larger than life with that fairytale component :)
XOXO

Will you say "I will"? Then hear me for your ring!

I was never into rings. But one night, sobbing against my pillow feeling extremely disappointed due to being left behind by our fancy dinner cruise ship, which was supposedly a celebration for our anniversary; strong arms took me into embrace, wiped my tears, and slid a white gold band with diamond on my finger. "Will you be my wife?" The sight of a ring sparkling against my fingers had changed my life that very night. It was then, that my obsession towards diamonds started.

“We shall find peace. We shall hear angels; we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds.”
~ Anton Chekhov

You girls must have noticed that for several times I spoke about diamonds? It's because I am always in loved with them. Their beauty never failed to leave me in awe.

Delicate Diamond Engagement Ring
This beauty that I met very recently grabbed my attention because of her unique designs and details. She has two round accent diamonds, which at a total of 1/10 carat, both sparkles at their best; yet only supplement the brilliance of the center stone. I love especially her petite frame; she would look very elegant on my slim fingers. She can come either as a white or a yellow gold. But if you girls heard me before, you would know that I'll take her in the form of white gold.

“And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.”
~ Bible

So girls, if I love diamonds so much? You can guess that I love sapphire as much. They are as beautiful as the most perfect stone my eyes could behold.

Round Pink Sapphire Accent Stone Engagement Ring
Here is another beauty that made me breathless when I laid my eyes on. Who wouldn't? Look at her intently. Imagine yourself sliding your finger in her and let her embrace you for the world to see. Magnificent, excellent, ... oh, I can't find exact words to describe the beauty this creation exudes. But one thing I know, that these twin sapphire is nothing ordinary. This ring is one of those beauties that you would love to have on your finger when you say "Yes, I will."

“My mother says I didn't open my eyes for eight days after I was born, but when I did, the first thing I saw was an engagement ring. I was hooked.”
~ Elizabeth Taylor

Girls, I can go on and on talking about engagement and rings, blame it to my own engagement if you wish, however, it is this shop for engagement rings that I stumbled upon on my search for rings and wedding bands that deserves your blame, honestly. They have all the most beautiful rings that you can ask for and they come in affordable prices not to mention personalized almost custom-made because of their uniqueness. It's like you get what you want. Engraving, colored gemstones, classic four-prong solitaire, or intricate side stones engagement rings with pave set diamonds. You name it, you get it.

Of course, I know that this message must reach the gentlemen out there more than the ladies. Otherwise, aren't they the ones that propose? But girls, you must learn to make it known to your love the type of ring you prefer for engagement in a very subtle way so that it does not appear like you're pushing him. I'll share to you my technique how to on our next gossip girl post. So stay tuned.

What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined... to strengthen each other... to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories.

Sea of Diamonds has 3 great deals for Valentine's Day

“Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“We shall find peace. We shall hear angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds.” ~ Anton Chekhov

“"I'm feeling so good. I feel like a million bucks. I'm focused, I'm alert, I'm zippy and top of my game.. I've never felt better! I'm sharp as a tack right now. And what's weird is that I didn't get a good nights sleep last night. And they say that's the most important thing..Or is it breakfast they said?..That's the most important meal of the day, breakfast...yes. And then it's 'i' before 'e' I know that..Um.. diamonds are a girl's best friend. Dog is a man's best friend.. What was I talking about?..Oh that's right, that I feel great and I'm at the top of my game. And it's odd because I didn't get hardly any sleep last night. And, they say that's the most important thing." ” ~ Ellen DeGeneres

"In the middle of my tears ain't feeling on top of everything, strong arms lovingly took me into embrace, the next thing I knew... a diamond was on my finger." ~ Gleenn of Creative Fashion

Jewels at Vintage Jewelry Store

The jeweler allows me to wear the sapphire blue lake on my finger, the emerald green leaves around my neck, and take the citrine sunset with me wherever I go. Jewelry has become my daytime link to nature in an office with no windows. And if I have to work late, there's nothing like diamond stars and a pearl full moon against an onyx night sky. ~Astrid Alauda, "Office With No Windows"

Oh, I do wish that I own diamonds. But I don’t. Unless otherwise the fake diamond looking sequins on the outer sides of my fancy mid-shin black boots count. Thus, I can’t take inspiration from these diamonds whenever I have to work late, otherwise, I would have to put them on top of my working table. But the good thing is, if I do work late, my office room has got two small windows.

And yet, all the work related thoughts flew out my mind when I stumbled upon these gems which I, for most of the time, avoid to lay my eyes with if I walk past them at any shopping malls.

“Diamond is the queen of gems and the gem of fairies.” Alas, this jewel quote might land me in the book of quotes as the anonymous author and as a counterfeit for a well known quote about pearls, but that doesn’t matter really. This gem is a 14k gold. It has 16 rose cut diamonds. A 0.10 amethyst is mounted on an antique styled hand made silver plate that makes the blue looking queen above and in the middle of those diamond fairies. This sparkling beauty weighs 4.3000. It is worth $800.

I never thought that a queen’s chandelier can inspire a jeweler so much to make him come up with this pendant, 14k Gold Fleur de Lis with 6 diamonds. What more can I ask for a jewel? This antique looking beauty is literally shaped in the form of French Fleur de Lis. Six sparkling rose cut diamond engraved into gold frame were added to present a pendant for queens. It weighs 6.5000. It is worth $900.

I do love my honey so much and I do dream to live the rest of my life with him but my love for my current status sometimes forces the thoughts of marriage behind my head. However, seeing this wedding band totally left me in awe. My mind started dreaming imagining him on his knees, reaching for my hand and sliding this beautiful gold on my finger. I hear myself saying “yes". This vintage wedding ring is crafted of 14k gold and decorated with vintage style carving. It weighs 5.1000. It is worth $310.

These gems are amongst the rare that I found at Vintage Jewelry . They are a luxurious jewelry store that features vintage rings, antique jewelry, estate jewelry, antique engagement rings, fine jewels, and so much more.

Don't ever wear artistic jewelry; it wrecks a woman's reputation. ~Colette, Gigi, 1944, translated

I dare to oppose. What if those artistic jewelries happen to be vintage rings and gems that would make a queen? Do check the site and you would know what I’m talking about.
