How fashion lift my spirit when I'm stressed?

My blog looked abandoned, silenced for a week; but it wasn’t because I did not wish to write or that because I was tired, but it was because of my laptop, it broke down twice these past two weeks.
It stunned me to realize how dependent to a laptop and an internet connection I’ve become. It’s like my life depends a whole lot to it. Oh Technology, how you manipulate me?

Many things worry and stress me right now. But as a female and a fashion addict, can you guess what lifts my spirit?

Shoes!

These python-embossed leather booties from Shopbop is made in Italy. I adore its drape front and I think that I'm loving open toes a lot lately. Must it be because it's summer?

Steal Barbie’s Pink Boots via Old Gringo

It must be my love for Barbie dolls that made me lean more towards pink; however, I must confess that either going kind’a plain Jane just for the sake of pink or going too pinky manifesting a doll’s outfit is not really my style. It’s either Jane belongs in the jungle or a doll belongs in a playroom. But wait, I discovered very recently Old Gringo and their collection of pink cowboy boots.

Old Gringo created a new definition of pink not as a color but as a fashion statement by itself. Not only did they create adorable boots in different shades of pink, they also crafted their boots with a goal of merging together style and comfort. Perhaps their designers believe that girls are not meant to suffer just to look stylish.

Determined to bridge the gap between western style and pure fashion, Old Gringo created designs that are original collection of vintage and retro styles. Take a look at these pink boots that I picked from their rich selection of boots and booties. Give close attention to their details, shade of leather – just how perfect the leathers were tanned, and how carefully these boots were crafted.

Don’t worry girls, wearing these pinks won’t make you look like a doll that belongs in a playroom, not at all, but these boots would definitely echo your mind, that you take style very seriously!

How to get the best look with ankle boots

Depending on which part of the world you are living right now, you may be enjoying the bliss of sunshine or the bountiful showers of rain; there is one type of footwear that is indispensable – ankle boots.

There are many ways you can wear ankle boots and the choices to look great with them are enormous, however, I would like to speak about the best way to wear ankle boots should the weather allows. Should I say summer?

To get the best look with ankle boots is to wear them bare legged. No tights, no hose, just plain skin whether it’s tan or not. And when I say bare legged, I meant really leggy.

Ankle boots: Go bare legged with mini dress
When it comes to dress, the best for ankle boots is mini dress. Baring more skin gives full attention to your boots. The mini-dress gives a good proportion for your entire look.

Ankle boots: Go bare legged with mini-skirt
Another way to go leggy is with mini-skirt. Notice how the girl in this photo sportted her ankle boots for her simple carefree abandon.

Ankle boots: Go bare legged with denim shorts
This is my favorite way of wearing ankle boots - going leggy with denim shorts. A chic look for any casual day. The length of your shorts depends on your preference.

Fashion Dilemna: Ankle v Knee Boots

Ever since The Guardian's Jess Cartner-Morley declared, 'The knee boot dead in the water,' and, 'The safe easy choice: what yummy mummies wear at the school gates,' That's Not My Age has been in a terrible sartorial quandary. What to wear if the trusty old knee boots have passed their sell-by-date, thigh-high Prada waders are out of the question and platform shoeboots remind you of Victoria Beckham playing ball on her first week in LA? Much as I'd like to 'take a tough-luxe approach' with this gorgeous Burberry Prorsum ankle boot, I can only imagine doing so whilst sitting at a desk. Tottering down the street like an old drunk might be tough but it certainly isn't luxe. And even if I could afford to splurge, net-a-porter have completely sold out anyway. Not wanting to look mumsy or safe, That's Not My Age tried on both knee and ankle boots (APC from a couple of years ago), bravely decided Jess C-M was right, and went off to work feeling very autumn/winter 09. Yes, this week I've given knee-highs the boot!

What do you think?

Fashion tip: Clever Hollywood designer Adrian, used to raise the waist of Norma Shearer's skirts to give the illusion of longer legs - so, try a slightly shorter skirt to offset the effect of flat ankle boots, or opt for low-ish heel as in this M&S image.
