The Big Sale in the Fashion Archives :)

And I'm back. Struggling to find my foothold in the weekday choc-a-blocs again. Finding simple things to amuse myself and make myself happy again. For instance, today I happened to be at the nearest Book store and was I happy to find out that they were having a Mega sale. And no no no, not an ordinary sale, sale on International magazines at throwaway prices :D It made me happier still to lay my hands on copies of my favourite International fashion magazines and the undying love for fashion in me didn't let me down and now I'm a proud owner :D
Going through these vintage magazines makes me realise how fashion is ever evolving and how most old trends make a come back, without an exception..and some which don't, don't for the better :D
As I flip through the glossy pictures, sitting near my window with the occasional gaze outside..I'm swept into the runaway fashions of last season, last to last season from some of the most awe-inspiring designers of the world, from OTK(Over the knee)boots by ASOS, booties by H&M, Shirts by Calvin Klein and extremely chic and fun accessories from Claire. It was when I was browsing through this, that I found what had me gazing at it intently for the longest time..A Jimmy Choo sale in collaboration with H&M..Their shoes, clothes and accessories at prices better than before..a sale which did brilliantly well in UK when it actually happened. Just a snippet of what I shut the magazine on, after wishing for similar wonderful sales in my country of course :) Excuse my not-so-great photography of the brilliant magazine :)
Tell me if you like what you see, and what you like best of course :)
Its Jimmy Choo, whats not to like :D
Headed for dinner to celebrate a friend's victory. Till the next post :)
XOXO

Should Jimmy Choo Collection be made available to the public?

“Wait! I lost my Choo!” she cries out as the boat pulls away from the pier. ~ Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City

"If someone is going to pay a good 350 British pounds for a pair of Jimmy Choo, that very one would want this brand rare and not available to a vast public." A number of people chorussed this line as they made comments about Jimmy Choo in a forum specifically about Tamara Mellons announcement of the plan to launch more Jimmy Choo boutiques around the world.

We know that the original Jimmy Choo sticks to the idea of creating couture shoes while Tamarra Mellon and Sandra Choi [Jimmy Choo's niece by affinity] prefer more the idea of creating top end ready-to-wear line. Thereby started the clash. For details, read here and here.

I spent around three hours reading and learning more about the story behind the Jimmy Choo; the backgrounds, the well-publicized fairytale weddings and one that eventually ended up to separation, the feuds between Jimmy and the queen of the empire Tamarra, the split of business partners, and so much more. I was left feeling sad for the original shoe craftman Jimmy Choo who seemed to be downplayed. Can you imagine having your very name famous around the globe but not having a claim on it? Must it be because Tamarra has got the power, connection and money? I just wonder, why didn't she build up the line "Tamarra Mellons" instead of taking over the Jimmy Choo? But please, don't get me wrong, was just a thought. I know there are more than just starting from scratch, ouch.

On the other note, I must be one of those who would vote for the availability of more affortable ready-to-wear Jimmy Choo shoes. [You know, i just love shoes more than anything else].

Vote for your side: Should Jimmy Choo be available for the public in more affortable price? Or should Jimmy Choo protect its exclusivity by making it rare to the public?

Jimmy Choo & H&M

Jimmy Choo pairing up with H&M....This is such music to my ears. I'm so utterly obsessed with shoes that sometimes I wanna wear them everywhere, including to the beach because one never knows where you'll end up after the beach. Por ejemplo, I went to the beach with my friend's birthday and after the beach we ended up at the Boat Basin, hence, HEELS NEEDED!!
I had my beach hair, a beach tan, my beach dress, AND no heels!!
Back on the subject though, this marriage between H&M and Jimmy Choo comes at a great time, a time of economic hardship where everyone is looking for a deal. I just hope that by November 14th they manufacture enough of these shoes to supply the demand that both of the retailers have created. It's more than wanted, it's necessary!!

I do have reservations about Jimmy Choo and H&M joining forces, will quality be compromised? What kind of materials will they use? Will this material cut into my feet to the point where I don't wear them and they end up in my closet as a permanent fixture?
hmmm....I wonder...
However, seeing that Fergie looks comfortable in them gives me hope.
