Pay ATTENTION to the DETAILS

(everything thrifted except F21 clogs)
vintage floral halter maxi dress, vintage crochet bag with customized fringe, DIY turban headwrap, Forever 21 platform wooden clog sandals, vintage fringe floral capelet, vintage bangles and B.E. rings
My outfit may be simple but there's a lot going on. From the crochet cut out floral halter neckline, the print, the flowing fringe on the bag, crochet turban, platform wooden clogs and bangles for that jangle jangle!
Now me and the dress go way back! I got it years ago at Wasteland in San Francisco on one of my lovely trip to visit my girl, Darine. (Who now lives in New York, JEALOUS!!) It was love at first site and was made to fit me! So I snagged it and we went on to live happily ever after!! THE END!! Yeah me and this dress will never part.
Anywho, I had an AWESOME birthday, even though the first 6 hours were spent car shopping. SNOOZE FEST!! But we decided on a VW Golf, yay. Then instead of sushi we went out for crawfish AGAIN!! I could seriously eat crawfish 3 times a week or if it's put in my face. I can't resist, I'm coo coo for crawfish!! Hahaha! Now were about to do part 2 of my b-day and Joel's taking me thrifting at some of my favorite places. I have a $200 budget, SWEET!!
Love you all as always and I'm just happy to have you here for me!
THANK YOU,
Virgin

Oh yeah I forgot to mention my last post and this one, the photos were taken by Ephraim.
(I get 50 mommy points deducted for that one, hahaha!)
You can actually see his shadow in the 5th shot!

CAN YOU FEEL IT?

(everything thrifted from head to toe except F21 shoes)
vintage paisley roses caftan dress, vintage Smokey the Bear hat, Target gray sweater socks, vintage Mexican leather bag, vintage necklaces, vintage bangles/watch, F21 platform clogs and B.E. rings
I can tell by the birds chirping and the chill in the wind that Spring is coming to Texas my friend!! I love Spring...it's my anniversary with Joel, birthday and Spring Break with Ephraim. It felt soooo gooooood out today I was able to wear some vintage. Joel calls it a sheet with a hole but I fucking ADORE caftan dresses! The pattern is key when choosing one cause you can easily come off all Mother Earth and shit and we don't want that. NO MA'AM! When I found this one, I thought the roses softened the paisley print and so I chopped it off halfway to my crotch, sweater socks and clogs. I am all for slouch and flow, shit that looks like it's about to fall off! Hahaha, you know what I'm talking about??
I have the weekend off so I'm going to believe it or not go to bed early! I haven't had a good night's sleep in like FOREVER! Plus I've been sick ALLLLLLLL week, blahs! Some chest, head cold bullshit. So I'm going to take a lotta pills and pass the fuck out! And hopefully wake up fresh and new to go thrifting.
Thanks for loving me cause I love you all back just as much!
Kisses,
Virgin

HOMEBODY

vintage ribcage knit sweater, Urban 1972 crochet knit shorties, vintage southwestern belt, vintage Smokey the bear hat, DIY leopard F21 platform booties, leopard faux fur Zara bag, vintage bangles and B.E. rings
So my OBSESSION for crochet has leaked over into Spring. Pretty much anything with a scallop trim is a go for me! Crochet shorts are a little hard to pull off, they could easily look like a bathsuit cover, yikes!! So I paired my shorties up with a close relative...a loose knit sweater. You can't go wrong with neutrals and knits, right??
For some reason I feel you can never have too much leopard print. I've been wearing it in bulk. Shoes, hat, bag...I gotta have at least 2 pieces at a time! Found the perfect velvet leopard dress the other day. I keep forgetting to take it in to fit Mama but I buy so much crap I forget about the other crap I bought the week before! I would make the cutest episode of Hoarders cause we could have a FASHION SHOW!! Whooooooooo, fuck yeah!!
The beginning of the the week has kicked off and I already feel like I'm 10 days behind! Ephraim's been sick so I have been waiting on him hand and foot to make sure he gets well. That's my baby, geez I hope I don't make him a Mama's boy I HATE Mama's boys!! Sooooooo needy and rely on their mom for everything, HATE 'EM!
Thanks for keeping me going,
Virgin

TALK TO THE HAND

(everything thrifted from head to toe except DIY booties)
vintage rust bubble slvs mini dress, vintage crochet floral smock vest, DIY vintage drawstring southwestern bag, vintage headband with Bueno Bueno feather tail, DIY leopard laceup F21 booties, vintage hand of Fatima necklace, vintage bangles and B.E. rings
Hey girl hay! Now this dress goes to show that a little puff in the sleeve ain't never hurt nobody, hahaha! This outfit is totally me...dress and a vest. I've must have done this combo a thousand times, it never gets old. I guess I got the gypsy hipster look down, lol!
Anywho, I LOOOOOVE taking pics at the studio, SOMETIMES, cause it's easier for me to do it over and over until I get the shot I love. Plus it freezing like a devil in heaven right now!! (30 degrees WTF Texas!!) When I'm outside you have the crazy cat lady, construction workers, runners, etc...EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE! And do they care if you're busy? GOD NO, they just talk to you like you're old friends or like you have all the f**king time in the world to be OUTSIDE TAKING PICTURES, AAAAAHHHHHH!! Whew, breathe, breathe! I just get sooooo pissed! I'm on a time schedule, DAMNIT!
So it was nice to have a little peace and quiet, plus good shots!
Before I go I want to say WELCOME WELCOME to all the newbies who recently joined VV! You guys are coming out the woodworks and I love it!! Word of mouth is a mutha even if you're the underdog of the blog world. So keep spreading the love around!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone!

I MARCH TO A DIFFERENT BEAT

DIY faux fur hat, F21 military sweater dress, Zara suede wedge booties, American Apparel shawl cardigan, vintage doctor's bag, vintage bangles and B.E. rings
I honestly can't believe Xmas is right around the corner. It definately doesn't feel like Xmas, frickin 80 degrees out right now!! It's like it came outta nowhere. It seems like no one really decorated their houses this year either, booooooooo!
Anywho I'm excited cause I asked for some pretty awesome things and my hubby usually gets me what I want. I want a video camera so I can vlog and show you guys my ,DIYs, a blender so I can make my own smoothies and power shakes and a gift certificate from Sephora cause I need to upgrade my makeup hardcore!! I've been really good this year so it would be nice if Santa brought me a Smart car, hahaha in my dreams!!
Before I got I gotta say HEEEEEY and WELCOME to all the newbies! It's like you guys are just coming in bulk and I wanted you to know I see you!! And THANK YOU to everyone for your love you show me on a daily!

HAPPILY EVER AFTER...

Another DIY creation! As you can see I had a LOT of leopard fabric leftover from the maryjanes. Which you can see here. Got these F21 booties online and thought they made my feet look weird. I'm not one to let anything go to waste and I hate doing returns, LAME! I envisioned leopard booties, so I made leopard booties. The worst thing about my DIYs are I always just do them out of the blue. It never crosses my mind to record what I do but at least this time you get to see the booties beforehand. I just added fabric and laces to the front. All you need is scissors, fabric glue, leopard fabric and shoelaces. VOILA, you too can have the lastest leopard platform booties I've been seeing all over the blog world.

OFF WITH YOUR HEAD

(everything thrifted from head to toe except pants)
vintage sheer blocked oversized blouse, F21 leatherette skinnies, vintage beanie hat, vintage DIY leopard platform maryjanes, wayfarer sunnies, DIY bear head chain purse, vintage oversized cross, vintage bangles/watch and B.E. rings
I  know what am I 12?  Hahahaha! But when my bestie showed me this purse on I'm Your Present, in the back of my head I knew I had to make it. I felt bad having to decapitate this poor little teddy bear but OH WELL! Look how cute he is?? It was quite easy too. Just cut off head, pull out stuffing, make an opening between the ears, sew up bottom, line with fabric...THE END! Instant faux fur bag with a little extra cuteness.
FINALLY got my F21 leatherette pants. Never order anything during the holidays, I swear my post man thinks I'm secretly stalking him!
I ordered an XS expecting them to be extremely second skin but NO! They fit more like a  S/M. If you're built weird like me, little ass no hips, be prepared to see your tailor!
Anywho, LOVE YOU ALL!
Kisses,
Virgin
