Blogger of the month - Greer

Alright, today I am going to present you my 3rd Blogger of the Month!
Well I found this lovely young lady, through a comment she left on my blog. And I fell in love with her style and her pictures! It was really really hard to make this post, because I wasn’t able to decide which pictures I should use! All of her pictures are AMAZING and the decision was really difficult! Well if you want to see all of her stunning outfits you just HAVE to go to her blog! [It is a MUST!! ;D]

And here’s the little “interview”:

Where do you live?
I live in Auckland, New Zealand.

Do you work/study/... ?
I am a still a student studying to graduate high school in a year in a half, which is quite nice really, to be able to finish soon. I used to have a small job at a cafe, but I decided I would rather focus on my school work, so I left in around April this year.

What's your personal life motto?
“While I breathe, I hope.” It’s a beautiful statement to live by, I think.

Your favourite book?
Wuthering Heights is the most loved of all my books.

Your favourite band/musician/..?
I seem to have many. Future Islands. Marina and the Diamonds. Regina Spektor. The Cinematic Orchestra. Florence and the Machine.

The "soundtrack of your life" [at the moment] ?
Future Islands – Inch of Dust
Sufjan Stevens – Chicago (Acoustic Version)

Why did you start your blog [and when]?
I started my blog at the end of last year because I liked to write. I used to write much more, less often. These were very personal writings, my deepest secrets, thoughts, and handwritten poems. Nowadays, many of those are not visible. I never really got to the place I am at until I started taking lots of pictures at the beginning of this year. It has changed a lot over these few months. It is no longer as personal as it once was, but I still like to write little tales and stories underneath my posts.

Do you think that your blog will help you in your further career?
I’m not sure really. I would like to think it will. But I am still not sure what I would like to be doing with my time once I leave secondary school, as I am still figuring that question out. I have a basic idea of what I want to do, perhaps working as an art director in magazine, so in that case it will help immensely. Also, another option is to get a communications degree and work towards a creative advertising job or anything else in the creative industries. Although, if I choose something completely unusual and out of the ordinary, for example, I think it would be really interesting to become a criminal lawyer, so I suppose it wouldn’t be so helpful at all. To answer the question, it really may or may not; it depends on which I finally choose to become.

How did you choose your blog title?
It is just my first name. It used to be otherwise, but I started to dislike it, so rather than thinking up a completely new title, which may of confused some, I just chose to use my own name, which my existing readers already new. It is not very common and it is relatively unheard of which makes it quite interesting.

How do you take your pictures?
My best friend Anna takes my photographs for me, when we go for drives to pretty little places; I usually get her to take some pictures. She likes photography, so it’s quite good really, and she doesn’t mind. If she isn’t around though (which is sometimes often, since she lives in a boarding school during the week), I just take the picture on my own and simply use a tripod. I edit them all myself in photoshop.

Your favourite blogs?
Oh I love discovering wonderful blogs! These are a few of my favourite; Wish Wish Wish (http://wishwishwish.net/) Carrie is one of my biggest inspirations, the pictures she takes and the clothing she wears never fail to amaze me, Hello Mr. Fox (http://hellomrfox.blogspot.com/) her vintage style is just so very nice, Arms around me (http://armsaroundme.blogspot.com/) and this boy is probably my favourite photographer at the moment. He is really very talented.

What does fashion mean to you?
I believe that it is truly expression of character. Most of your thoughts and feelings project through your clothing. Dressing up is like decorating one’s body. It does not mean everything, but it definitely means something (my mother makes clothing, so that means a lot to me as well).

Do you think that a lot of people are often too superficial?
[cause I think that the world's getting too superficial]
Some people of course are; there will always be many of those types of people in the world. I wouldn’t say that I am a superficial person. I would say that I am a visual person. I am strongly guided by sight, and viewing things in different ways. I like to get dressed into these garments, and wonderful creations. Mainly because I would like to look down and see these things myself, and if I happen to inspire people on the way, oh, that would be magnificent.

Which city is the most fashionable city?
I myself have never travelled far enough to know this; I have never been to Paris, or any of another truly spectacular place. One day I would like to be there though.

What's your personal "To Do List" for the next years/your further life?
Ideally I’d live in a small town, and listen to pretty music like Belle and Sebastian all day long, and I’d wear second-hand dresses and ride my bicycle to work. I’d share an old house with my best friend, it would of course, be by the seaside.

Your personal key pieces for fall?
Since I live in the southern hemisphere, it is just turning towards Summer now, but the clothing pieces I found that I was wearing ever so often during the colder autumn months here were things such as velvet skirts, big black hair bows, plum-colored knitted cardigans, thick woolly socks and stockings, and beaten up brown boots (mine always looked like they were about to fall apart because I wore them too much.)

Do you agree with all the "trends" or are there some things that you would never ever wear?
I don’t always agree. If I am shown something that I like, I will wear it, no matter what. But of course these trends are here to inspire you and allow you to make up your own opinions. So when you see something, and fall in love with it, I don’t think it should matter if it is a popular item or not. It doesn’t matter to me.

What's your favourite piece of clothing?
This tan leather satchel I carry everywhere. It’s shown in this bunch of pictures and it seems just so perfect to me.

I first bought it to use as a school bag, and I purchased it online and was silly by not reading the measurements first. It arrived and I couldn’t manage to fit any of my books in so I can only use it for every day wear, which suits me just fine though. J

Your favourite brands/shops?
Vintage Stores, Topshop, my mother’s closet.

Do you think that there are a lot of clothing differences between Europe & America?

Oh gosh. I would never know these days. I haven’t been to either one, but I will get there...
