Black

I was working this Saturday (usual schedule, from 11 to 19 in the studio, drawing, cutting, stitching), so this post wont' involve any great styling or avant-garde dresses. I've spent most of the day finishing up a pair of jeans for the Winter and eventually had a moment to cut patterns for a jacket, which I'm thinking will work well with these pants (will definitely take some pictures next week as soon as everything is done). I've also managed to take a couple of pictures in the morning. We went to Zoete Waters (near Leuven). One of my favourite places actually. There are these three nice lakes surrounded by woods and I must admit nowhere else have I seen so many ducks walking around just like that on the road and making these weird sort of barking noises when you approach them. Anyway, I'll get to the point. I made this black Summer dress a about a month ago. Initially black wasn't the colour I was using for my other Summer pieces, but then I had a request for a long black cotton dress with sort of shoulder pleats and embroidery. So I came up with the design and eventually made the dress, which I think turned out quite cute. I went for a simple shape accentuating the top part with the golden coloured beads different sizes and shapes rounded up in small circles, and a little bit of pleated detail just below. To be honest I'm not a big fan of black in the Summer, but I actually think this dress might work just fine.

Hope you can see the top detail here. As usual took a while to get done but I surely did enjoy working on it.
