My name is Dylana Suarez and I am full-time blogger and administrative assistant, and part-time free-lance writer. I a UCLA graduate, and I have always loved fashion ever since I was little and mom used to draw mannequin figures for me to draw clothes on. And I have always loved reading and absorbing stories. It is my dream to have a career in which I can utilize both my passion for clothing and my love of writing. I see every single day as a chance to look and feel fabulous.
2. When you start blogging? And how you can make your blog famous like now?
I started blogging about 2 years ago on and off. I originally just blogged about fashion trends, news, and inspirations, but I deleted that blog because it wasn't that exciting or interesting. I started fresh last fall because I wanted my blog to be more personal and I started updating my blog with pictures of my personal style, which is so much more fun! And I was so inspired by other personal style blogs. I feel very lucky for having such a great following in so little time. I started visiting other blogs and leaving comments and hoped that they would visit my blog back. I also joined online fashion communities like Chictopia and Lookbook to increase traffic to my blog. The feedback so far has been wonderful and very motivating.
3. Tell us about your style.
I would describe my style as quirky minimalism. I love classic and simple pieces that are timeless and practical, but I always make sure to throw something in that makes my outfit feel unique and one-of-a-kind. I may pair a chic pair of black trousers with a blouse in a funky print, a vintage belt, and a great pair of socks peeking out at the bottom. I love neutrals and sleek silhouettes offset by small bursts of bright color here and there to make a look more modern and fresh. I am very inspired by brands like Chloé, Celine, Stella McCartney, Dries van Noten, Pringle of Scotland, and Burberry Prosum because of their simple and clean pieces that have impeccable tailoring and shape.
4. What do you think about fashion in this world?
I think fashion is such a fun way to be creative and express yourself. There is no faster or easier way to show the world who you are than through your clothes. Fashion can sometimes seem harsh, favoring only the thin, rich, and famous, but what I really love is how real girls and young woman like me now have the chance to make their own mark in the fashion world and be recognized for it. It is a liberating and exciting feeling when we can influence people from our own backyards or homes.
5. And what does fashion means to you?
I am always driven by things that are aesthetically pleasing, and fashion has always been a part of this for me. I have so many memories that revolve around a piece of clothing. But most of all, I love fashion because it gets your imagination running and it makes you start thinking about yourself as an individual. It makes me happy because it allows me to embrace my uniqueness.
6. Any tips for another fashion blogger?
Don't try to be someone you are not on your blog. Blog about things and share pictures that you truly love, and don't care what other people think about you. When you blog about what you love and just be yourself, others will gravitate to it and appreciate what you have to say. And don't be afraid to get creative when it comes to pictures! It's fun getting dressed up and doing mini photo shoots. That's what I love most about blogging!
