Nails Nails Nails...

As I mentioned in my last post, I've got a bit of a new thing for painting my nails. Until recently I've never really been interested, all the fuss of waiting for them to dry, only to wake up the next morning to find that half your nails chipped already.

That all changed when a fellow blogger recommended an amazing product that made painting my nails a million times easier, and I haven't stopped since. In light of this I'd like to start a new feature 'reviewing' various nail products. Read on for my first installment...

~ Barry M Nail Effects & 17 Fast Finish in Knockout Red ~

I really liked the leopard print effect these two polishes created, once I'd finished painting my nails I couldn't stop admiring them. I loved the red base coat so much I almost didn't want to use the nail effects polish, but I was overcome by the excitement to try it and I'm so glad I did, not only does it look really unique, but it's so much fun to watch it crack and form a pattern.

~ 17 Fast Finish in Tigers Eye ~

I love this colour and the really glossy polished look it gives. The polish was really easy to apply and took two coats to get the colour above.

~ 17 High Gloss in Raspberry Mocha ~

Another neutral tone that I'll definitely be wearing a lot more of this Spring, as with the previous polish, it applied well and took two coats to get the colour shown in the bottle. The second picture shows how well the polish has worn over a week. As you can see it still looks good, and this is thanks to the amazing product I mentioned at the start of this post.

Now I'm sure I'm way behind the times, but when Eli from Thrift Eye suggested I try Seche Vite fast drying top coat on a previous post, I'd never heard of it and wasn't even sure if I could buy it in the UK, but after a little research I found a seller on Amazon. Eli had said that when applied, this top coat dries your nails to the touch almost instantly and your nails are completely dry within a few minutes. It also kept my polish in great shape for a whole week.

If you haven't already tried this product I cannot recommend it enough. You can buy Seche Vite from Amazon for around £6 plus p&p.

I apologise for my dodgy cuticles (for shame!) and also for my lack of posting over the last couple of weeks. As I said in my last post, things haven't been great recently, but I really appreciate all you kind comments and messages, they really do brighten my day.

Rosie took these pictures of me the other day and I liked how spontaneous they were (mousy smile and all).

I can't wait for the rest of the week! I'm going to be in London tomorrow getting more stock, Friday the sign is going up on the shop-front and we'll be filming and Saturday the last of the building work is being done and more filming is taking place! I love how exciting life is at the moment, and I'm so pleased to share it wih you all. I'll post pictures of the new sign this Friday! I'm getting so close to being able to open it's crazy.

Well, These Boots Did NOT Work...

But, I liked the Orange and Gray-Blue color combo...just wished I would have done something different for my tights and footwear...

{Tiered Top - Loft; Orange Skirt - J.Crew; Tall Silver Socks - Banana Republic; Boots - Banana Republic; Gold Cuff Bracelet - Loft}
Do you ever do that? Later see the picture and kick your self with your badly chosen boots, or whatnot?  Ug. So annoying!!  Oh well... I liked the outfit from the knees-up! :)

What do you think of my new bag?

I must say I have completely fallen in love with it.

The colour is even more coral/watermelon-y in real life, beautiful!

And I am such a sucker for the whole 'fake chanel' gold chain handles too.

Its from Dorothy Perkins and you can still buy it here

D.P's has got some amazing stuff in just now, I have ordered a few dresses and blouses too, So I will do some posts with them soon!

Quote of the week: Inés de la Fressange

The 53-year-old model is turning into a regular guest speaker for That's Not My Age, and if like me you're experiencing a mid-week, mid-March energy slump, here's some helpful health and beauty advice from the fabulous Inés de la Fressange:

1. If I wanted advice on looking younger, I would ask Karl Lagerfeld, he looks younger now than 25 years ago. But there is no way I would drink all those Diet Cokes.

2. I never ever go to spas - I loathe places that smell like humid Japanese restaurants and where they treat you like you're in a psychiatric hospital. Go to the bar at The Ritz instead!

3. To feel better about my lifestyle, I watch documentaries on old rock bands and I feel like a picture of health.

Do you have any top health and beauty tips?

beach tote

sketch by (me) VASILIEVA

Do you guys remember a couple of posts ago I told you I got inspired to create a beach tote for this Summer season. I also did promise that I ll try to sketch something as soon as possible while the ideas are still fresh in my head. Well, here is a first draft version of what I came up with. Thinking of making the bag very light and fresh and sort of totally girly, yet with a twist and definitely nothing cheesy. I sketched this girl in a swim suit and right now I'm busy with the photoshop trying to create some nice background around her. Getting quite excited about these bags. Wanna hear what you think.

Have a lovely wednesday

Toni&Guy Iron It Defence Spray

Hey fashionistas,
Welcome to my first product review. This product had me so pepped up that I could not resist doing a review for all you readers to know :)
If you've been trying all sorts of serums to protect your hair from the heat of the straighteners and to no avail then I suggest its time to change. And what a happy change at that! :) Toni&Guy Iron-It defence Spray comes in two sizes of 50 ml and 200 ml and is a good buy if you're a fairly often straightener-using person like me. My hair is naturally straight but I use straightener once in a way to iron out the bends but its not a lot of heat that my hair is exposed to so it was never really a problem. Off late, however, I noticed hair fall post straightening and thats when I decided it was probably time I bought something specifically for this purpose.
The best part about T&G products is that they leave no residue. Unlike hair wax or mousse, you run no risk with this leave-in conditioner because it a light hair mist that you can spray over your hair before you straighten it and it leaves this light, vanilla-ish fragrance. Not sticky, not icky. YAY for that! :) And it also leaves a natural shine :)
The only drawback, their products are priced slightly steep, but trust me, when it concerns something like your hair, you cannot compromise :) Ok now I just sound like I run a salon! :P
50 ml can: Rs 400 or about 9$. I will, however, buy this again in the future for their not many hair products in the market that I don't crib about :)
Post the spray+straightening
Would you be trying this in the future? Tell me what you think :)
XOXO

THE OUTFIT: 'Not only a rose is pink.'

I'm sorry for the bad quality!
